YouTube Adds New Promote Option for Shorts to Provide an Easy Way for Creators to Boost Their Videos
YouTube / Promote
YouTube has added a Promote for Shorts on the Shorts tab on desktop. Users can tap the three dots beneath their Shorts, select the Promote option, and follow a simple promotion workflow to select their goal, edit copy, target their audience, and more. The promoted Short will then be shown to viewers most likely to engage with the channel.
Why It Matters: Following the test of a creator-facing Promote button for Shorts last year, YouTube is making it even easier for creators to boost their video content through a straightforward process that doesn’t require in-depth knowledge of paid media campaigns or Google Ads.
Many major platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and LinkedIn already offer similar boost options, making paid media more accessible to creators and small businesses, while generating additional ad revenue for platforms.
YouTube has made other recent efforts around its paid media solutions, including expanding Partnership Ads that enable brands to boost sponsored Shorts with a creator’s permission.
