Facebook Creators Can Now Make Money from Public Stories
Facebook is giving creators a new way to make money—this time through public Stories. Creators in the Facebook Content Monetization program can now earn from Stories, just like they do with videos, Reels, and posts.
This update is rolling out to enrolled creators with no extra steps required. Earnings are based on Story performance, and there’s no view threshold, meaning creators can start earning immediately.
Creators who aren’t enrolled can apply for consideration here.
Why It Matters: This expansion gives creators another way to monetize content they’re already sharing, like everyday updates and behind-the-scenes moments.
It’s similar to how Snapchat creators monetize their Stories. While Snapchat shares ad revenue from ads placed between Stories, Facebook pays creators based on Story performance. Still, both platforms offer a low-effort way to earn from ephemeral content.
This move is part of Meta’s broader push to attract and retain creators on Facebook, following initiatives like the Meta Breakthrough Program. While Meta’s efforts have centered around TikTok creators given the uncertainty with the platform, this could grab the attention of Snapchat creators too.
