Facebook's 'Brand Collabs Manager' Expands To Select Instagram Creators
Earlier this week (December 18th), Instagram announced new ways on how it will support branded content.
To help more creators, it’s opening up Facebook's Brands Collabs Manager to a select group of U.S. Instagram creators. Launched back in June 2019, Brands Collabs Manager helps brands and creators connect with each other.
Previously, the marketplace was only available to Facebook creators, however, Instagram creators who now have access will be able to share insights and engagements with brands. They will also be able to search for brands to partner with. Brands, on the other hand, will be able to see insights for whatever branded content they’re tagged in, in both, Brands Collabs Manager and the Instagram app itself.
Along with the expansion of Brands Collab Manager, Instagram shared that it is updating its policies to include more clarify about paid promotion for vaping, tobacco, alcohol, and diet supplements. Branded content promoting vaping, tobacco, and weapons will continue to be banned while branded content promoting alcohol and diet supplements will have special restrictions, which are expected to be announced and rolled out in the new year.
The expansion of Brands Collab Manager hints at Facebook’s desire to play more of a direct role in influencer marketing and one that goes beyond providing the platforms that it’s happening on. With the influencer marketing industry expected to reach $15 billion by 2022, it’s a no-brainer that the company wants to be part of the action.
