Triller Announces New Investors, Full-Length Song Streaming & Custom Playlist Capabilities
TikTok is getting all of the attention right now, but Triller is looking to overtake it and become top of mind when it comes to short-form video apps. The budding music social video platform made several announcements in a recent press release, revealing impressive 26.5 million monthly users, dozens of new investors and a pair of new in-app features.
Calling itself the “fastest-growing music focused social video platform,” Triller has added eight of the top 10 streaming artists as partners including Snoop Dogg, The Weeknd, Marshmello, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Kendrick Lamar, T.I, and Tyga, who have provided an estimated 10 to 15 million in funds.
“We are incredibly fortunate to work with some of the largest artists on the planet. Today’s announcement about our increasing portfolio of partnerships and collaborations with top labels and artists marks perhaps the most significant shift in music since the creation of streaming. We are truly putting the music business back together, and artists recognize the importance of Triller to the future of the industry,” said Mike Lu, Chief Executive Officer of Triller.
In addition to new investors,Triller revealed that users can now stream full-length songs for free rather than 30 to 60-second clips directly within the app at no additional cost. They can also create customized playlists and access Triller created playlists. As a result of licensing partnerships with major labels such as Warner Music Group, Sony Music, Entertainment, and Universal, users aren’t the only ones benefiting from these new features as artists and publishers will receive credit and revenue from streams.
TikTok is the talk of the town right now especially with more and more brands and creators flocking to the platform, but with the rapid growth, new influential partners, and additional funding, it would be wise to keep Triller on your radar.
