Starting April 11, YouTube will host an official livestream for Coachella, available on both the Coachella YouTube channel and a new dedicated Coachella Livestream app.

Viewers will be able to watch the festival in several different ways, including multi-view and vertical live streams, lifestyle live streams, and Watch With, YouTube’s new feature where creators can react and comment on events in real time. Previously, it was limited to live sports, but YouTube said it would be expanding access to it. Viewers will also be able to shop for merchandise via YouTube Shopping.

Why It Matters: This highlights YouTube’s unique ecosystem, where entertainment, creators, shopping, and more blend seamlessly. The incorporation of Watch With is notable since it has mostly been limited to live sports, but now it will offer a new way to experience major events alongside favorite creators.
