TikTok Partners With Quizlet To Give Creators A New Interactive Way To Teach
TikTok is partnering with Quizlet, a popular online education platform that helps users explore topics and ideas they want to learn about more.
TikTok shared the news in a recent blog post, stating:
“To further learning on TikTok and bring more value to the app experience, we're partnering with Quizlet, the popular online study platform, to provide another way for creators and learners to explore topics and ideas they're interested in and want to learn more about. Quizlet's award-winning learning tools, including digital flashcards and games, and a massive variety of user-generated study materials, allow anyone to learn anything, which is why we're thrilled to be able to bring some of the Quizlet learning experience to more people on TikTok.”
Creators Will Be Able To Add links To Quizlet Study Sets In Their Videos
Through the partnership, select creators who share learning and information content will soon be able to add a Quizlet link directly to their videos. Creators will have the ability to choose from one of Quizlet's 450+ million flashcard study sets or add their own Quizlet study set if they’ve previously created one. Once the video is published, viewers can access the study sets by clicking the link.
What The Integration Means For Creators
The #LearnOnTikTok hashtag on TikTok has 63.5 billion combined video views, showing how embraced educational content is on the app. Whether it be teachers, scientists, chefs, doctors, or makeup artists, many creators are leveraging the short-form video app to help others learn more about their respective fields.
As a result of the integration, creators can interact with their audiences in a new engaging, and interactive way. With educational content being some of the most popular content consumed on the app, virtual learning the norm right now, and TikTok’s rising hold on culture, this partnership has the potential to have a substantial impact on how people teach and learn, especially when it comes to topics outside of the content that schools typically focus on today.
Big Tech Is Penetrating Education
Traditional schooling isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, but the pandemic has opened up opportunities for big tech companies like TikTok, Google, and Apple to penetrate the education space further.
With all eyes on virtual learning, you can expect other tech companies to follow suit down the road.
