TikTok Is Testing A New Q&A Feature To Help Creators Engage With Their Followers
TikTok is testing a new way for creators to engage with their followers.
The short-form video app recently introduced a new Q&A feature that is available in video and TikTok Live for select creators.
How Does The Q&A Feature Work?
Through a Q&A button that appears on creators’ profiles and in their comments, users can ask their favorite creators a question and creators then can directly answer with text or in a video.
In a statement to TechCrunch, TikTok said the following:
“The Q&A; feature in video and LIVE is in testing, and we're aiming to roll it out to more users with Creator Accounts in the coming weeks. While in testing, this will only be available to creators with public Creator Accounts that have >10K followers and have opted in/turned on the feature in their settings, as well as some safelisted creators from our Creative Learning Fund program. All viewers will be able to submit questions."
Who Currently Has Access?
At the moment, creators with at least 10K followers and who have opted in to feature in their settings have access to the feature.
Q&A Features Are Quite Popular
Q&A features have become quite popular across social media platforms such as Instagram; creators often take to Instagram Stories to answer their followers' questions.
Q&AS ARE ALREADY A SIGNIFICANT PART OF THE TIKTOK EXPERIENCE
Despite informal Q&As between creators and their followers already being a significant part of the TikTok experience, TikTok didn’t have a specific feature for this type of engagement until now. Although currently limited, this feature will help strengthen and foster this experience between creators and their followers since it streamlines intaking questions and answering them, especially at scale.
When it comes to building an audience, engagement and interaction are two of the most critical factors, so the Q&A feature will help creators do that more efficiently.
How Influencers Can USe The FEature for influencer campaigns
With more brands tapping TikTok influencers for influencer marketing campaigns, the Q&A feature will also be an effective way for creators to drive engagement up on sponsored posts to delight brand partners. For example, influencers could encourage their followers to ask questions about the product or service they’re promoting.
