Threads Tests the Ability to Share Custom Feeds
Threads appears to be testing the ability to share custom feeds. The Recording Academy shared a GRAMMY Awards feed it created on its profile.
When tapping the feed, it highlights the number of topics and profiles it includes. Users can pin the feed to their home feed and follow the profiles featured in it.
They also have the option to share the feed through icons at the top right, such as copying the URL, sending it via direct messages, or sharing it as a post on Threads.
Why It Matters: Custom feeds are one of the key ways for users to stay up to date with topics they’re interested in on Threads, whether through users or topics. By adding the ability to share these feeds, users can discover content they care about in one place.
In the case of the Recording Academy’s GRAMMY Awards feed, this feature can also make Threads more of a hub for real-time commentary, which users have been seeking. Users can follow feeds like these to get live updates and insights from relevant profiles posting about events in real time.
Currently, sharing custom feeds seems to be limited, but once widely available, it can exposure users to more content through curation, along with Profile Collections. Threads has been surfacing these, which are curation profiles based on topics, more in the feed.
