LinkedIn Makes Design Updates to Celebrations and Activity Section, Making Them More Visual

LinkedIn

LinkedIn made a pair of design updates.

First, the platform refreshed the look and feel of how users share a new job or promotion or celebrate a work anniversary. They are now more prominent, with the addition of a color background, bold text, and more.

Second, images and photos that are shared alongside a post will appear much larger in the Activity Section of a user’s profile. Previously, the photos and video thumbnails were much smaller.

Why It Matters: Both of these are notable updates across their respective areas. For celebrations, users can expect their new jobs and milestones to stand out more in the feed.

The larger, more prominent photos and videos in the Activity Section make the profile more visually engaging, benefiting users who share visual content. This could encourage profile visitors to explore a user’s past posts if a striking photo or video catches their attention while scrolling. As a result, this provides more incentive for users to include a photo or video with their posts.
