LinkedIn Adopts C2PA Standards to Identify and Tag AI-Generated Content

LinkedIn / C2PA

LinkedIn is adopting Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) standards, to identify AI-generated content. Any photos or videos detected using AI will automatically have a C2PA icon added. Users can click on the icon to view content credentials and metadata, including AI detection, Issued by, Issued to, and Issued on.

Why It Matters: While most social media platforms have self-serve identification tools for AI-generated content, their usage appears to be low. This underscores the need for automatic tagging tools, which can increase the likelihood that AI-generated content is disclosed appropriately, while also providing standardization.
