With Giving Tuesday (December 3rd) just a couple of weeks away, Facebook launches three new product features to help and encourage fundraising across Facebook as well as Instagram.

The new product features include Fundraiser Stickers in Facebook Stories, Gaming For Good - Charity Livestreaming, and an Instagram Donate Button on Business Account Profiles:

Users will be able to share a fundraiser sticker in their Facebook Stories as a way to raise awareness for a fundraiser and encourage their friends and families to give.

After testing charity live streaming tools about a year ago, a variety of charity live streaming tools are now available for Facebook Gaming Level Up creators and other partnered creators in regions, where fundraising tools are available on Facebook. When gaming creators live stream, they will have the ability to select causes for their viewers to support, set donation goals, add a donation progress bar, and share donation alerts with them via the live stream video.

Instagram Donate Button on Business Account Profiles

Nonprofits who have a business account will now have the option to add a Donate button on their account, which will appear next to their contact information.

Facebook is also working with nonprofit organizations to develop a new feature that would allow people to volunteer for causes they care about most. This feature is expected to roll out sometime in 2020.

These new features will further strengthen Facebook’s fundraising capabilities and provide charities and nonprofits with even more opportunities to create awareness and raise money for causes.

Since Facebook first launched its fundraising tools in 2015, over $2 billion in donations have been raised, proving its value as a tool for charities and nonprofits. Although Facebook is the most well known when it comes to fundraising, it isn’t the only social media platform that has tools for it. Earlier this fall, YouTube launched YouTube Giving, its own set of tools to help creators and fans raise money for charity.
