Facebook Expands Professional Mode To All Creators Globally
Following its rollout to a select group of creators last December, Facebook is expanding Professional Mode to all creators across the globe.
What Is Professional Mode?
Professional Mode is a set of features available for users on their personal Facebook profile, which gives them creator tools and unlocks monetization opportunities. Once activated, they can access tools to connect and grow their audience and monetize their content.
Notable Professional Mode Features
To grow their audience, creators have the potential to be featured in Suggested For You, where Facebook recommends their content across Feed on Facebook to a larger audience. Creators can also utilize Top Fans to identify and interact with their most engaged fans and Invite Friends to Follow to invite their community to follow other creators.
Through a Professional Dashboard, creators can view profiles and content analytics to see how their content performs. Creators also can select a creator category that appears under their name when people search for them on Facebook. There is also a new in-app Creator Support Hub, allowing creators expanded access to support and resources.
Regarding monetization, eligible creators can earn money from sharing public content in various ways. For example, U.S.-based creators can join Reels Play, where they can receive payments for sharing Reels content. Other monetization opportunities include Stars, where fans can directly support creators through tipping for Reels, Live Video on Demand, and soon-to-be Photo and Text posts and Subscriptions for recurring revenue from fans.
Helping Everyday Users Become Creators
Professional Mode is another way that Meta is trying to grow its creator base on Facebook by helping transform its everyday users into creators. Using the feature, people can easily turn their personal Facebook profiles into creator accounts. Previously, users would need to create a separate Facebook Page to be able to utilize Facebook’s suite of tools for creators and businesses. This extra step would prove to be a barrier for many users. Now that Professional Mode gives them a simpler and more convenient way to access these tools, there should be an uptick in users with creator accounts. With the ability to share content with specific audiences while accessing audience growth and monetization tools, users can leverage one profile for both Facebook’s primary use cases — connecting with friends and family and building a business.
