YouTube Tests Voice Replies for Creators to Respond to Comments
Lindsey Gamble
YouTube is testing Voice Replies with a group of creators in the U.S. This feature allows creators to reply to comments on a video using a voice memo (up to 30 seconds) within the main YouTube app on iOS. While only creators can record these, all users can interact with them.
Why It Matters: Voice Replies offer a more personal way for creators to engage with their audience—whether by answering questions, responding to feedback, or simply thanking fans for their support. A voice response can strengthen the connection between creators and viewers, making interactions feel more meaningful.
Additionally, replying via voice may be easier than typing long responses, especially on mobile devices, giving creators another way to scale community engagement.
Voice-based interactions have been gaining traction across platforms, with Instagram, Threads, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and others having voice features to enable more dynamic and personalized communication.
