YouTube Experiments with AI-Generated Instrumentals for Shorts

YouTube / Dream Track

YouTube is experimenting with AI-generated instrumentals for Shorts. As part of Dream Track in Shorts, creators can enter English-only text prompts and select a music genre (hip hop, pop, country, etc.) to generate an instrumental soundtrack for their Shorts.

Why It Matters: Following up on the initial phase of Dream Track, which let creators use AI-generated voices of artists like Charlie Puth and T-Pain, YouTube is adding more ways for creators to leverage AI for creating soundscapes to back their short-form video creations. With Creator Music and these AI music experiments, creators now have more options for adding music to their content, ranging from trending and popular tunes to custom backings.
