TikTok has added a new Profile Search feature. At the top right of user profiles, there is a new search icon. When tapped, it brings users to a search field where they can input keywords, topics, and hashtags to search their profile.

Based on these inputs, TikTok will surface relevant videos, including the user’s own posts, any posts they’ve reposted from other accounts, posts they’ve liked, and posts they’ve favorited. If no results are found under these categories, TikTok will suggest related content.

Why It Matters: This feature strengthens TikTok's search capabilities. In addition to helping users discover new content, it simplifies the process of tracking and revisiting content they've engaged with before.

Instead of scrolling through one’s profile—which can be time-consuming when searching for an older post—or saving URLs in spreadsheets or note-taking apps for future reference, users can now find specific posts in seconds by simply entering relevant terms in the search bar.

This is useful for several scenarios. For example, creators might want to find a previous sponsored video to share with a brand they are pitching, social media managers might want to locate a specific video saved for inspiration, or everyday users might want to retrieve a funny video they previously favorited to share with friends.

With all the content that users can share, save, and interact with, Profile Search allows them to easily access that content whenever they need it.
