Threads Tests New Sorting Options in Search To Help Users Find More Timely Content

Threads New Sorting Option

Dan Rodriguez / Threads

Threads is testing new sorting options in search with a small group of users. When searching for topics, they will be given the option to sort relevant search results by 'Top' or 'Recent.'

Why It Matters: There is high demand for Threads to support real-time content like breaking news. Despite this, Meta has hesitated due to its stance against amplifying news and political content. Alternatively, it has added new features like topic tags and trending topics, which give users some components of finding timely content, which also benefits journalists, sports commentators, and creators who share content that is often time-sensitive.
