YouTube Music Launches Samples Feature for Personalized Music Discovery

YouTube

YouTube Music has launched a new feature called Samples, which is a personalized music discovery feed that features short-form video clips from music videos and live performances. Similar to TikTok, users can swipe through the feed vertically to discover music from YouTube Music's catalog. They can like and share the videos, add songs to a collection or playlist, create a Short using the song, click through to watch the entire music video or live performance recording, and more.

With Samples, YouTube provides a relevant and engaging way for users to discover music from new and emerging artists to some of the biggest musicians in the world. As seen with TikTok and Spotify, which launched a similar feature, snackable videos have become a meaningful way for people, especially younger listeners, to discover new music and artists.

Samples is adding to a rapidly growing list of music-related features and initiatives that social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok have recently rolled out, providing a deeper connection between music and social media.
