Nike, the world’s largest sneaker company, plans to do just that with the launch of Nike Fit, new smart technology that is part of the Nike app that will help you find the perfect shoe size.

Through a combination of computer vision, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and recommendation algorithms, Nike Fit allows you to scan your feet through your smartphone's camera, collect 13 data points, and map your foot morphology in just a few seconds. As a result, you will be able to find the shape of your feet and the perfect fit for each Nike shoe style.

After scanning, you have the option to store your unique foot dimensions in your NikePlus member profile, making it easy to access for future shopping online or in-store. In addition, NikeFit features a guest mode that will help your friends and family discover their right shoe size as well.

Besides being a means to drive more people to sign up for its NikePlus membership, which has been a big focus for the company as of recent, Nike Fit provides the company with the opportunity to gather even more valuable data about its customers, which it can then use for customer personalization as well as building new products.

The launch of Nike Fit is a good example of how brands continue to take advantage of today’s technology for innovation. Whether it's utilizing digital properties further to strengthen its hold on the sneaker industry or the development of shoe-lacing shoes, Nike has been at the forefront of innovative.
