LinkedIn Now Shows View Counts On Video Posts Like Other Short-form Video Experiences

Lindsey Gamble / LinkedIn Public View Counts

LinkedIn has started to show public video views. When scrolling through the feed on mobile, posts with videos now display a small view count at the bottom left.

Why It Matters: It was only a matter of time before LinkedIn added public view counts to its short-form videos, given that this feature is already common on platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. This update helps make LinkedIn’s video experience feel more familiar to users.

While the change may seem minor, it can actually impact user behavior in several ways. High view counts serve as social proof, signaling that content is worth watching. This can motivate viewers to engage by liking, commenting, or sharing.

Additionally, seeing videos with high view counts may encourage users—especially creators—to post more video content themselves, as it highlights the potential reach LinkedIn is giving to video posts today. Users no longer need to guess how well videos perform—they can see it directly.

This follows a number of updates and experiments that LinkedIn has quietly made to its short-form video experience, including updated icons and a more prominent follow button.
