Instagram Adds Option for Sharing to Feed or Profile

Instagram has added a Share to Feed toggle for some users during the post-creation process. Users with access can now decide whether to share their posts in their followers' feeds or keep them exclusive to their own profile by simply toggling the option on or off.

Why it Matters: This new option complements the recent launch of the Close Friends option for Feed Posts and Reels. It gives users greater control over how and where they share their content. Specifically, users who would rather not share their posts with their followers but still want the posts visible on their profile for those who visit will find this option valuable. Creators generally want to maximize discovery for their content yet this offers them the ability to share content to their profile without the pressure of whether it will perform well in the algorithm or with their followers.
