Facebook Launches A Mobile App For Creator Studio
Back in September, Facebook launched Creator Studio, a tool to help creators and publishers track the performance of their content and manage their Pages.
Facebook has now announced the launch of a mobile version of the creator-centric platform, making it even easier for creators and publishers to manage their Pages from the convenience of iOS or Android mobile devices.
As explained by Facebook:
“The app is an evolution of and mobile complement to Creator Studio, the desktop hub dedicated to helping creators and publishers manage their content, track performance, and connect meaningfully with their audiences on Facebook. The new experience offers the same actionable insights and meaningful engagement metrics, all from the ease of a mobile device.”
With the Creator app, creators and publishers will have access to the following features and tools:
Rich Insights: Data and engagement metrics about how content is performing, like “1 Minute Views” and “Avg. Minutes Viewed”
Post-Uploading Edits and Fixes: Ability to edit video titles and descriptions, delete and expire posts, publish drafted posts and reschedule scheduled posts, enabling easy content adjustments
Connect with Audiences: Reach fans and followers in real-time, from anywhere with the ability to read and respond to Facebook messages and comments using Inbox directly in the app
Multi-Account Support: Manage multiple Pages on Facebook and toggle between them from the same app in the same session--no need to log out of one to log into another to access multiple Pages
Notifications: Immediate in-app notifications for key milestones
You can download Creator Studio on iOS and Android today.
Insights & Analysis:
Giving creators and publishers a mobile version of Creator Studio is a no-brainer especially considering how often social media activity is happening from mobile devices vs. the desktop. With the ability to access insights, respond to comments left on content, make edits to the posts, and more, creators and publishers can conveniently manage their Pages while on the go.
While the app will certainly be useful, it’s surprising that it doesn’t currently include some of the more important features that the desktop version has such as the ability to upload videos or connect an Instagram account. As a result of these not being available, the app feels a bit incomplete as creators and publishers will still need to revert back to the desktop version for full capabilities. However, that is actually in line with how Facebook sees the app and desktop version working together vs. being standalone entities.
The good news is that these features may actually be coming to the Creator Studio app at some point, giving creators and publishers access to full capabilities no matter whether they are using the app or the desktop version.
