Bluesky Adds Support for Three-Minute Videos

Bluesky Updates

Bluesky

Following the rollout of custom video feeds and a dedicated video tab on user profiles, Bluesky returns with another video-focused update. The platform announced that users can now upload videos up to three minutes long, up from one minute.

This update is part of a series of app changes, including Chat Requests, which allow users to either accept or reject messages, and a simplified way to mute accounts by tapping the three dots underneath someone's post and selecting "Mute account."

Why It Matters: Bluesky is upgrading its video capabilities and user control, which is significant for both creators and users. The ability to upload three-minute videos brings Bluesky closer to competitors like Threads and X, offering creators more room for creative expression.

Meanwhile, updates to chat and muting options give users greater control over their interactions and content, ultimately improving the overall user experience and making the platform more user-friendly.
