YouTube Launches ‘Take a Break’ Ads for LiveStreams

YouTube Take a Break Ads

YouTube

YouTube has launched Take a Break Ads for livestreamers. Creators can now set a temporary away screen during their streams for 1, 3, or 5 minutes and choose either a default away slate or a video from their existing playlists. Mid-roll ads may also be shown to eligible viewers during these breaks.

Why It Matters: Take a Break Ads offer a triple benefit for creators. They provide the flexibility to step away during long broadcasts, the opportunity to promote other videos—including potential sponsored content from brand partners—and an additional way to generate revenue during downtime. This should also appeal creators, who are live streaming across other platforms like Twitch and TikTok.
