YouTube Experiments with Shazam-Like Song Search

YouTube Song Search

YouTube

YouTube is currently testing a feature that allows users to search for songs by humming or recording a snippet that is at least three seconds long. To use this feature, which is currently available to select Android users, individuals need to enable it within YouTube's voice search settings. Once the song is identified, YouTube will display a range of related content, including official music videos, user-generated videos, and Shorts that feature the searched song.

Why It Matters: This experimental feature brings Shazam-like functionality to YouTube, but is specifically tailored for the platform's music library. It offers users an interactive and new way to explore music and related content, such as videos from creators. This addition also complements the recently launched Samples feed on YouTube Music, a feature designed to help users discover new music through short-form videos, much like TikTok.
