TikTok is currently testing a Collaborations feature similar to Instagram's Collabs.

The feature allows creators to invite up to five accounts to collaborate on a post. Once the invitation is accepted, the creators are listed as collaborators, and the post appears on all their profiles, marked with a 'Collabs' icon.

Collaborations is currently available for select creators in certain regions. Recently, Will Smith used this feature to introduce his new Westbrook Racing team.

Why It Matters: Collaborations offer creators and brands a powerful way to expand the reach of their posts by tapping into their combined audiences. For instance:

  • Creators collaborating on videos can seamlessly distribute the content across all their profiles, eliminating the need for separate postings.

  • New brands on TikTok can debut by teaming up with creators for shared posts, making it easier for their viewers to follow the brand account.

  • When integrated into influencer marketing campaigns, this can boost sponsored content performance and enable brands to seamlessly repurpose creator content in real-time.
