TikTok Launches Group Shot Feature for Users to Create Group Photos with AI and Templates

TikTok / Group Shot

TikTok has launched a new Group Shot feature, available in chat. Users can select a Group Shot option, choose a template, upload a photo of themselves, and then invite two others to do the same. TikTok will then generate an AI-powered group shot using the combined photos, based on the chosen template.

Why It Matters:  Group Shot comes at the perfect time, just in time for the holidays and the end of the year. It offers a fun and easy way for friends and family to create and share group photos using relevant templates.

This feature ties into several areas TikTok has been focusing on recently, including AI, photos, and, perhaps most importantly, messaging. This past summer, TikTok launched Group Chat, aimed at making messaging a bigger part of the app, similar to how Instagram has built its own messaging ecosystem.

Fun features like Group Shot and other updates, such as Stickers, contribute to TikTok’s broader effort to create a more engaging and social experience over time.
