TikTok Expands Its Sounds for Business Library With Creator Voice Clips
Last summer, TikTok introduced Sounds for Business, a collection of custom sounds tailored for business use in content creation. The platform is now expanding the audio library with Voice Clips,' which comprises 18 custom voiceover audio templates crafted by creators Anania, Matt Buechele, Devin Halbal, Good Children, Sani Sisters, and Very Gay Paint. These voiceovers, available in the Commercial Music Library, are pre-approved for both organic and paid media content.
Why It Matters: The addition of Voice Clips expands brands' audio options, granting access to voiceovers from recognized creators. Not only does audio typically lead to more engaging videos, but this collection also enables brands to associate with notable creators without direct partnerships.
With TikTok managing the licensing process, brands can bypass the time-consuming and expensive task of independently licensing audio from creators. This assurance extends to legal safety, a concern illustrated by a recent incident in which music critic Anthony Fantano threatened to sue game maker Blizzard Activision for using his voice clip in a promotional video.
TikTok's latest music update follows shortly after the removal of music from Universal Music Group artists and songwriters due to a licensing dispute. Although TikTok had been steadily expanding its Commercial Music Library before this, it’s likely focusing more on this to prevent similar issues in the future.
