TikTok Adds Honor Label To Display A Creator’s Expertise or Occupation on Their Profile

TikTok

TikTok has added a new feature in the Honor Label, which displays a creator's area of expertise or occupation on their profile. This label appears under their username and is currently only available for artists and Effect House creators. To receive the Artist label, music creators must be categorized as artists. Effect House creators must earn a Platinum Bonus Badge for being an Effect House Top Creator. To earn this badge, they must publish at least ten effects, three of which must be used in 100,000 videos. Creators who live stream will soon have access to Live labels.

The Honor Label offers creators an additional form of verification and a way to stand out on the platform. It encourages creators to take specific actions, such as creating engaging effects, to unlock the Effect House Top Creator Label. By rewarding creators with a label that highlights their expertise, TikTok hopes to encourage more creators to produce effects, which it has been heavily promoting lately.

LinkedIn has a similar feature in Top Voices and Community Top Voices Badges, which can be found on creators' profiles. The former recognizes experts across the professional world, while the latter recognizes noteworthy contributors who show expertise in a specific skill determined by their contributions to Collaborative Articles.

As verification or having a blue checkmark across platforms like Instagram and Twitter can now be purchased through subscriptions and is becoming more representative of a user’s identity, look for other platforms to introduce features similar to TikTok's Honor Label and LinkedIn's Badges. These new features will likely be a way for platforms to recognize their top and notable creators.
