SoundCloud Launches A New Weekly Playlist Series For Users
SoundCloud announced it is launching a new weekly playlist series for users. The SoundCloud Weekly playlist will be updated every Monday and as the company notes, will feature "music from millions of unique creators--multiple times more than are featured in playlists on other streaming services." The songs selected will be based on a user’s' listening history including what he or she likes, shares, and listens to the most.

“SoundCloud has the largest, most diverse music catalog ever assembled,” Kerry Trainor, Chief Executive Officer, SoundCloud said in a press release. “SoundCloud Weekly draws from our global creator community to deliver a simple, personalized music experience that connects more creators with new listeners than ever before. Our commitment to giving more creators more ways to be discovered is why what’s next in music is first on SoundCloud.”
SoundCloud Weekly can be accessed at the top of the home screen on the latest version of the SoundCloud mobile app for iOS and Android devices as well as on the web at https://soundcloud.com/discover.
With SoundCloud Weekly, SoundCloud looks to follow in the footsteps of Spotify and its popular Discover Weekly playlist, which is a hit with its subscribers. The new playlist feature is the latest move by the music streaming platform as it continues to try to improve its user experience. Last month, it relaunched the comments feature on its mobile apps, giving users the ability to comment on songs "anytime, anywhere" right from the convenience of their phones.
