LinkedIn Makes It Easier for Users to Share Posts with Connections via Messages
LinkedIn / Send
LinkedIn announced an update for sharing posts. When tapping the Send button on posts, users can send the post as a message to connections, including those they’ve interacted with by scrolling horizontally, or they can search for specific people. They also have the option to share the post on other platforms like WhatsApp, Messages, and Messenger.
In its announcement, LinkedIn said:
"Your content deserves a bigger stage. 🌎 Now you and your followers can share LinkedIn posts across any platform in just two taps, expanding your reach and sparking new conversations. Just click Send to share a post with connections or across platforms with an eye-catching preview."
Why It Matters: LinkedIn’s update simplifies content sharing, making it easy to send posts both on and off the platform in just a few clicks.
This change signals that LinkedIn, much like Instagram, values content that’s shared via messages. While Instagram views shared content as a way for friends to connect, LinkedIn likely sees shared posts among connections as a tool for spreading valuable professional insights, whether it’s industry news or career advice.
With video becoming a more significant part of the LinkedIn experience and a commonly shared format, this feature could lead to increased sharing, especially of video content.
