LinkedIn Adds Videos For You Section Highlighting Recommended Videos To Watch
LinkedIn has added Videos For You, a new section in the feed that curates and suggests videos for users to watch. Videos show up in the vertical format and have an engagement count at the bottom left of the thumbnails. As users scroll horizontally, the videos start playing with the sound off. Users can tap a video to watch it in full screen using LinkedIn’s immersive video experience. From there, they can swipe vertically to watch more videos or click a back arrow to return to the LinkedIn feed.
Why It Matters: With Videos for You, LinkedIn adds another way for videos to be discovered and consumed. Previously, LinkedIn added a Video tab, providing a dedicated space for short-form videos. This latest update makes video a bigger part of the platform’s experience.
This follows Microsoft's recent sharing that video content is the fastest-growing format on LinkedIn, with a 34% increase in video uploads. With more ways for creators’ video content to be seen, expect more people to take advantage of LinkedIn’s video capabilities.
LinkedIn has also been focusing on different experiences to connect users with relevant content. Similar to Videos For You, it launched Suggested Posts, which shows users content from outside their network that the platform thinks is relevant and valuable to them.
