Emerging Twitch Rival Kick Launches Its First Advertising Solution
Kick, an up-and-coming live streaming platform, recently launched its first advertising solution: a banner ad for the Italian car brand Alfa Romeo, a partner of Stake, a crypto gambling company that is Kick's sister company.
This advertising solution is significant because it marks the beginning of Kick's exploration of new revenue streams. Kick has gained popularity among streamers as a Twitch alternative due to its 95-5 revenue split and relaxed moderation rules. With such a favorable split for creators, bringing in revenue is key, even though Kick likely won’t run out of money anytime soon due to its relationship with Stake.
In addition to the advertising solution, Kick is also exploring Kick Konnect, a program to connect its top streamers with brands for sponsored live streams. Whether through ad placements or brand collaborations, Kick will encounter significant challenges when it comes to attracting larger brands, given the controversy surrounding the platform. However, for brands that are more open to taking risks and are not deterred by such controversies, Kick presents an enticing option, particularly for those seeking to reach the 18 to 34 male audience on a newer platform.
