YouTube’s New Partnership with Eventbrite Allows Fans To Purchase Live Performance Tickets Under Music Videos
YouTube has announced a new partnership with global ticketing and event technology platform Eventbrite that will make it “simple for fans to go from experiencing music online to seeing live performances. “ The popular video streaming platform made the announcement in a recent blog post.
When fans watch videos from YouTube Official Artist Channels, they will now see Eventbrite listings for upcoming live music performances in the U.S. below the videos and be able to purchase tickets directly from Eventbrite by clicking the “Tickets” button.
“Live events continue to be a major source of revenue for artists, so we want to help artists keep fans updated on their upcoming shows and sell more tickets to live performances,” the YouTube Music Team wrote in the statement.
The partnership with Eventbrite marks YouTube’s second ticketing deal. In November 2017, it signed a partnership with Ticketmaster. As a result of both deals, it now covers more than 70% of the ticketing market in the U.S. Additionally, it has plans to add new artists and venues as well as expand beyond the U.S.
