X Expands Display Options for Embedding Videos and Broadcasts

X

X, formerly known as Twitter, has expanded display options for embedding videos and broadcasts from the platform. Users can now embed videos and broadcasts standalone on third-party websites without the X post framing. Here's an example:

Why It Matters: With these new options, X aims to give users more flexibility in sharing and embedding video content off the platform, such as on websites and blog posts. Because the videos can now be displayed without X branding or the context of a post, those looking to repurpose their own X video content or other video content off-platform can do so with less clutter—similar to what can be done with YouTube videos.

This is the latest in a series of updates that X has rolled out to strengthen its video capabilities over the past few months, in hopes of getting more creators to upload video content and more advertisers to run ads alongside video content. However, with Elon Musk’s recent endorsement of an antisemitic conspiracy theory, it likely won’t matter how good its video product becomes, as both creators and advertisers are reevaluating whether X is a platform they should be on.
