VSCO Launches Blog Feature to Empower Photographers in Sharing Rich Stories

VSCO / Blogs

VSCO has introduced a new Blogs feature for Pro members. It’s a modern reimagining of VSCO’s sunsetted Journals feature.

How Blogs Works

Available for creation on the web at vsco.co, creators can use a new Blog option to combine text, photos, and videos (YouTube and Vimeo embeds) to share visual blogs. There are also options to add a headline and upload a cover image as well. Once published, these are visible on the creator’s profile.

A Dedicated Space for Deep Storytelling

With Blogs, VSCO provides a dedicated space for creators to delve into the stories behind their visuals. They can share behind-the-scenes insights, curate recent photo series, or offer editing tips.

This native experience enables creators to maintain a centralized location for their work—from photos to client projects and now, blog entries—eliminating the need to host content elsewhere.

Supporting Professional Photographers

This addition supports VSCO’s ongoing commitment to becoming the go-to platform for professional photographers, following recent 2024 updates such as Galleries, Discussions, Client Spaces, and VSCO Hub. While many platforms have shifted their focus to short-form video content, VSCO continues to prioritize photography while expanding into more traditional social media features.

However, a notable limitation of the platform is that many of its best features—some of which could arguably be free—are restricted to Pro members, which may affect accessibility for all photographers.

Nevertheless, as an ad-free platform, the trade-off for subscription fees in exchange for a clean user experience and photographer-specific tools seems to resonate with users.
