VSCO Introduces New Profile Feature To Let Creators Share Their Experience, Availability, and Location
VSCO has introduced new profile features for creators with a VSCO Pro Membership who are at least 18 years old. The new features include:
Experience: Creators can indicate the type of photography they specialize in, such as portraits, weddings, documentary, fashion, sports, and more.
Available: Creators can specify what they are available for, such as professional work, mentoring, and giving and receiving feedback.
Location: If a creator is available for work, they can add the locations where they are available to work.
These updates follow VSCO's rollout of profile customization options, including different profile layouts, linking capabilities, and expanded bios.
Why It Matters: The ability for creators to add information about their photography experience, the type of work they are available for, and their location helps them better highlight their skills and connect with other creators and businesses for opportunities.
At the beginning of the year and more recently, when Eric Wittman took over as CEO, VSCO shared its commitment to exploring ways to help creators connect with brands and access money-making opportunities.
The addition of these appears to be part of that initiative. It is likely that VSCO will eventually launch an experience that allows brands to search and find creators to partner with based on the information provided in these new profile settings, potentially creating a marketplace and joining the likes of TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, and more.
