Twitch Launches 'Showcase,' A New Interactive Tool To Help Streamers Create Assets
Twitch launched Showcase, a new interactive tool streamers can use to create image and video assets to share across their live stream, social media, and other digital properties.
How Showcase Works for streamers
Showcase pulls information directly from streamers' profiles, such as their profile photo, emotes, schedule data, and local time zones, to create personalized assets. Streamers have various customization options, including cover images, colors, patterns, emotes, and messages. Once they have created their assets, they can download them in different ratios, allowing them to upload content in the appropriate aspect ratio for each social media platform.
With Showcase, streamers can easily generate creative assets that they use to enhance their live stream experience or share across social media to promote their channels or upcoming live streams. The tool is quite limited, but it offers creators that don't have the skills, resources, or time to create engaging assets. Adding more custom inputs and unique graphics could add more appeal to more established streamers, who may want more customized assets.
why twitch should add a media kit component to showcase
Twitch could make this even more valuable by building a media kit component into it, similar to YouTube's Media Kit feature and Instagram's upcoming Creator Portfolio feature. Giving creators the ability to easily generate a media kit that includes profile information and real-time channel analytics could help them land more brand deals and ultimately, attract more advertisers to the Twitch platform.
Currently, Showcase is only available for Twitch Affiliates and Partners but could be rolled out more widely once it exits the experimental phase. The tool adds to a long list of new features and tools that Twitch has launched for creators in recent months.
