Spotify Is Testing A New Feature Called 'What's New' That Highlights New Releases
Spotify is currently testing a new feature called What’s New.
Per the screenshots shared by users who currently have access to the feature, What’s New is a timeline that highlights new releases from artists you follow on the streaming platform. Additionally, it tells you how long ago that particular song or album was released. It’s somewhat of an extension of the popular Release Radar playlists, which is personalized and features music from artists you follow as well as listen to.
What’s New takes it a step further by making it even easier for you to find new music from artists that you care about.

In a statement to The Verge, Spotify confirmed the test, stating “We are always testing new ways to create better listening experiences for more users, while continuing to find ways to connect artists to their fans.”
There’s no word whether the feature will actually be rolled out, but taking in consideration of the platform’s mission to continue to improve the music discovery experience for users, there’s a good chance that all users will have access to this helpful feature in the future.
Last week, the Spotify Premium app was updated and now includes Streamlined Navigation, Personalized Search, and Endless Artist Radio.
