Lyft and SeatGeek have announced a new partnership that will make it easier for fans to get to live events at stadiums, theaters, arenas and other venues.

When fans request a Lyft ride through the SeatGeek app, their seat location will automatically be featured in the Lyft app via new custom maps, ensuring that their driver drops them off at the gate or entrance that is closest to their seats. Lyft estimates this new feature can save fans up to "30 minutes in walking time at large stadium venues." Additionally, riders can receive exclusive discounts on rides when booking trips via the SeatGeek app.

“Our partnership with Lyft is a perfect example of what openness can do for fans, and what has been lacking in this industry,” said SeatGeek Co-Founder Russ D’Souza said in a press release.  “This is innovation that will noticeably improve the fan experience, as we look for more ways to make it easier to access and enjoy live events.”

The partnership kicks off this fall with fans visiting Providence Park, home to the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer, being the first to experience their integration.
