Instagram has rolled out a new tool for Stories that makes it easy and quick for users to re-share Stories content that they are mentioned in.

The new feature exists with Create Mode, which was launched a few months ago. Now, when you’re mentioned in a Story, you will see an '@' option available in the Create Mode. When you tap it, you’ll see a button that lets you know how many current Stories you’ve been mentioned in. When you click on it, it will display thumbnails of all the Stories. From there, you can select any of the Stories displayed and re-share them as your own Stories until they expire. Additionally, you have the ability to add other elements such as text or emojis.

Insights & Analysis:

This feature will be helpful for brands especially those who tend to get mentioned in a lot of Stories content. Not only will they be able to keep track of their mentions much easier than before, but they will be able to easily re-share that content into their own Stories feed as well as include elements to incorporate their own branding or messaging. Whether that content is customer feedback, endorsements or content created by influencers, this feature will allow brands to take advantage of the power of user-generated content.

This is also the latest example of Instagram’s commitment to the Storie content format. In the last couple of months alone, the Facebook-owned company rolled out a number of Stories features including new creative options for Boomerang, Layout, and much more.
