Instagram starts to roll out its redesigned Explore tab featuring Topic Channels
Instagram is starting to roll out its redesigned Explore tab to users. First announced at Facebook's F8 event last month, the Explore tab remains intact at its core as it is still made up of the same tile-based interface with curated posts. However, it now features topic channels above the curated posts. These channels include Sports, TV & Movies, Food, Fitness, and more. In addition, there is a For You channel that features a collection of curated posts from other users that are based on your interests and past behaviors.

The Explore Tab was redesigned in an effort to make it easier for users to find content that they are likely to be interested in. Right now, the designed Explore tab is only available for select users but is expected to be available for all over the next few days.
In other Instagram news, the platform recently launched IGTV, a standalone app for long-form vertical video that is expected to compete with YouTube.
