Instagram is back in the news as it introduces a new feature today. The popular photo/video sharing social media app will now allow you to add clickable profile and hashtag links in your bio. Previously, a profile or hashtag would appear in your bio as regular text. Now, they will appear as live links that will direct users to that specifc profile or hashtag.

When you add someone else's profile in your bio, they will recieve a notification with the option to remove the link. In cases where they choose to remove the link, their profile will no longer be clickable, but will remain in your bio.

Per Instagram, here’s how you can utilize new feature:

To add a hashtag or profile link in your bio, just tap on Edit Profile and go to the bio section. When you type a # or @, you will see a list of recommended hashtags and accounts in the typeahead. Once you select the hashtags and accounts you want, they will automatically be linked in your bio.
