After months of testing, Instagram has finally launched a new Chat sticker feature. The new sticker allows users to easily start a conversation with a group of their friends in Direct Messages. The Facebook-owned company recently made the announcement on Twitter.

Similar to the Questions and Polls stickers, you can find the Chat sticker via the Stories sticker option tray.

You can use it by simply tapping the Chat sticker, which will then generate a Join Chat sticker on your Story post. Once your Story is published, your followers can tap on the sticker to request to join the group chat. You have the option to accept or deny their request. If you accept their request, they will be added to the group chat and be able to communicate with you as well as anyone else who is in the group chat. You also have the ability to remove anyone from the group chat and end the chat whenever you want.

Besides the Chat sticker feature offering users a way to communicate with their friends in similar fashion to a group text, it provides influencers and other public figures the opportunity to further engage and interact with their followers.

According to reports, Snapchat is working on a similar feature.
