Facebook launches Workplace, a desktop chat app for businesses

Workplace By Facebook App

After years of testing, Facebook offically launches Workplace, its desktop chat app for businesses.

Available for Windows PC and Apple Macs, the app is similar to Facebook Messenger, however it is separate from a user's personal account.  In addition to users being able to communicate through text, photos, videos, GIFS,  and more, it has screen sharing capabilities.

The highly requested feature allows users to share their entire display or a specific desktop app with friends. Slack, a direct competitor added screen sharing to its app a year ago, but Facebook is hoping that its version will be more attractive to those in the market for a workplace messenger app.
