Like it sounds, mobile screen sharing gives users the ability to screen share anything from their mobile device when they are in voice chat or through DM.
According to a statement by a Discord spokesperson to TechCrunch, the feature has been optimized to handle a lot of onscreen motion, "allowing for things like game streaming or remote YouTube/TikTok viewing parties with high frame rates and minimal latency.”
Discord first launched screen sharing capabilities in 2017, but it was only available when Discord was used from a desktop or laptop.

Insights:
One of the best things a platform can do is listen to its users, especially when it comes to feature requests. While mobile screen sharing at its core is a fundamental feature and not something that will ever be considered game-changing, it will result in multiple benefits for Discord and its users.
Besides granting its users' wishes and showing that it’s listening to feedback, mobile screen sharing will increase engagement and interaction between users on the platform since users can screen share right from their phones instead of being on a computer. With a consistent increase in people using mobile devices to access the Internet, mobile screen sharing is on-trend.
Thanks to the pandemic, virtual gatherings and viewing parties have become the norm, making mobile screen sharing a beneficial feature for users who use Discord to connect with others around common interests.
Fresh off raising another $100 million and announcing 140 million monthly active users, Discord is becoming the talk of the town. Many brands and creators are launching Discord communities to engage with fans without worrying about algorithm limitations. With a boatload of new money and new users, don’t be surprised if your favorite brand or creator launches a Discord server in the upcoming months.
