Amazon Expands AI Shopping Tools with Interests and Visual Search

Amazon

Following the shutdown of its TikTok-like Inspire feed, Amazon is doubling down on AI-powered shopping with two new features across Prime and Photos:

  • Interests (Prime): Users can describe what they’re looking for, and Amazon will continuously update matching products.

  • Visual Search (Photos): Users can search their photo library to find similar products on Amazon.

Why It Matters: While Amazon’s social commerce efforts have struggled, its investment in AI-powered tools signals a focus on helping shoppers find products faster and reducing barriers to purchase.

Though these tools don’t directly involve creators, features like Visual Search could integrate them — allowing shoppers to find products from saved or screenshotted images of creators.
