Airbnb is teaming up with TikTok Creators for a new offering of its Online Experiences product.

Launched back in April at the beginning of the pandemic, Online Experiences allow people to connect and travel virtually.

Through this new offering, people will be able to connect with their favorite TikTok creators to learn new skills in photography, cooking, health and wellness, comedy, and more. Participating creators include My Nguyen (@MyHealthyDish), Bonnie Rodriguez (@bonnierzm), Trevor Bell (@TrevorBell), and more.

“Collaborating with Airbnb to bring TikTok creators to Online Experiences builds upon our ongoing commitment to support our creators as they pursue opportunities to realize actual earnings for the time and care they put into creatively connecting with an audience that's inspired by their ideas,” TikTok said in a press release.

As of right now, Online Experiences with TikTok Creators cost $18 to $42 per person and can be booked on the Airbnb app and website.

Insights & Analysis:

This new partnership is a win for both sides.

By leveraging popular TikTok Creators, Airbnb can bring in new consumers to Online Experiences. With TikTok Creators having some of the biggest and most loyal audiences, there’s a high chance that their followers will make their way to Airbnb and book an Online Experience with them, seeing it as an opportunity to meet and hang with their favorite TikTok star.

As for the Creators, they gain a new revenue stream outside of brand collaborations on TikTok.

This is also the latest example of TikTok Creators finding monetary opportunities outside the platform. Three of the platform's biggest stars in Charli D’Amelio, Dixie D’Amelio, and Addison Rae recently inked significant off-platform deals. The D’Amelio sisters announced a new makeup line with Morphe while Rae announced a Spotify exclusive podcast with her mother called Mama Knows Best.

Even with TikTok’s $200 million Creator Fund on the verge of launching, we’ll likely see more TikTok stars seek opportunities outside of the platform to make money and earn a living.
