Abercrombie & Fitch Unveils New Creator Community in the Abercrombie Creator Suite
Abercrombie & Fitch recently launched the Abercrombie Creator Suite, a new creator community. Creators can participate in challenges and create content to receive gifted products and affiliate commissions. They will also have early access to new pieces and collections, as well as discounts, including 20% off on almost everything, free shipping on orders over $99, and access to experimental events. Additionally, they may be featured across Abercrombie’s channels and provide input on future campaigns and activations.
To be eligible to apply, creators must meet certain criteria. These include having at least 2,500 followers on TikTok or Instagram, being 18 years or older, and being based in the US.
Why It Matters: Retailers launching their own creator networks, programs, or marketplace continue to be a trend throughout 2023. Abercrombie & Fitch joins in on the action with the Creator Suite.
Similar to Amazon, Walmart, and Target, Abercrombie is putting a big focus on working with creators in a commission capacity. However, Abercrombie is also leaning on a challenge-based approach where creators can unlock perks by doing things such as following the brand on social media and downloading their app, along with content creation.
As expected, there are mixed reactions from creators, as evident by their responses to announcement posts across social media. A majority of creators seem to be excited about the program and the potential to be part of it, but there are also creators who have questioned the compensation structure of the program and usage terms.
Affiliate-style programs can be hit or miss, but these programs do help give more creators opportunities, especially smaller ones who are still growing their audience.
