Khalil Mack signs a endorsement deal with Mack Trucks
Oakland Raiders defensive end Khalil Mack had a season to remember in 2016. A game changer and a big reason why the Raiders finished at the top of the AFC West, Mack racked up 11 sacks and five forced fumbles. As a result, he was named the 2016 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, beating out the likes of New York Giants safety Landon Collins and Denver Broncos pass rusher Von Miller.
When an athlete plays well on the field, it often results in plenty of off-field opportunities and that is the case with Mack, a former first round draft pick out of the University of Buffalo. He recently signed a endorsement deal with Mack Trucks.
As of now, the details are skim but the deal will likely involve the NFL star promoting the North Carolina-based company’s “next generation highway model,” scheduled to be released on September 13th.
To announce the partnership, Mack Trucks released a video titled Mack Meet Mack featuring the football player talking about how Golden State Warriors center Draymond Green gave him the idea to reach out to the company and how his thought process on the football field is similar to a Mack Truck.
Besides the two parties sharing a name and Mack's tough and rugged style of play, Mack Trucks V.P. of global marketing and brand management John Walsh believes the partnership makes a lot of sense due to the overlapping values that they share in "hard work, honesty, and humility."
