Roc Nation Sports adds its first coaching client with signing of Cleveland Browns' Hue Jackson
In just four years, Roc Nation Sports has built an impressive roster that includes Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, Seattle Mariners second basemen Robinson Cano, and Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette. Today, they add to that roster with the signing of Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson, their first coaching client. The move makes sense as the coach's agent John Thornton joined Roc Nation Sports a year ago after leaving Octagon.
Last year, Jackson led the Browns to a franchise worst 1-15 record. Before coming to the Browns, he spent four seasons as an assistant with the Cincinnati Bengals and guided the Oakland Raiders to a 8-8 record in 2011 as their head coach.
The 51-year old coach is currently in the second year of a four year deal. While its not necessarily a make or break year, the Browns are expected to improve on their performance in 2016 thanks toa strong draft, which included three first round selections in Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett, Michigan safety Jabrill Peppers, and Miami tight end David Njoku, and a number of off-season free agent signings.
Along with contract negotiations and endorsement deals, Roc Nation will assist Jackson is building a foundation for child in Cleveland.
